Two things that are genuinely harder here
Accounts burn faster
Adult links get removed more often than anything else, on properties that police them. That is not a reason to charge you more. It is the reason the 6-month replacement window matters more on this page than on any other. Send the dead URL, get a replacement.
The pool is smaller
Fewer properties accept adult, so not reusing donors is the discipline that actually matters. Your order history is kept: order again in six months and you get new properties, not the same list resold. In a pool this size, resale is exactly how a footprint gets built.
Same links, same price
On volume tiers adult costs me no more than anything else: same properties, same accounts, same work. The 30–50% “adult rate” you've been quoted elsewhere prices the fact that you have fewer places to go, not the job itself.
The one thing I won't sell you is a moderated-forum placement. Those boards pull an adult link fast and take the account with it, so that tier is white-hat only, at any price. Will forums actually accept adult links?
